Booking information

Once you've browsed our fleet and selected your preferred sailing catamaran, yacht or motor cruiser, you can either put your vessel on hold or make a booking.

Next steps

Place a vessel on hold

On request, we can place your chosen vessel on hold for 48 hours while you confirm your travel arrangements. We will require a contact telephone number so we can offer you first refusal on that vessel if there is another interested party, in lieu of a booking deposit.

Deposit

To secure your vessel, we require a $750 booking deposit via credit card or direct deposit. Once your deposit has been received, we'll email confirmation of your charter details.

Charter fees

To be paid in full 60 days prior to departure.

Travel insurance and cancellation

Travel insurance makes sense. A small, additional investment when you book ensures you are protected should your holiday be interrupted by illness, a family emergency or severe tropical weather.

While late summer is a great time to visit the Whitsundays, conditions can vary. If you are holidaying during this period, travel insurance – including cyclone cover – is especially important. We also recommend Bareboat Charterers' Liability Insurance. Our reservations staff can help.

Refunds and cancellations

Charter fees will be refunded in full for cancellations made more than 60 days prior to departure, however a cancellation fee of $100 will be applied. Charter fees will not be refunded for cancellations made less than 60 days prior to departure, unless a substitute booking is made. All charter cancellations must be received in writing.

Island relocation

Start and finish your charter from Whitsunday Rent A Yacht's base at Shute Harbour, or the following locations. (Vessel delivery fee available upon request):

  • Hamilton Island
  • Hayman Island
  • Daydream Island

Additional fees

The following additional fees are applicable to each charter:

Marine park fee

A Great Barrier Reef Marine Park fee plus associated charges are applicable to all charters and payable in full prior to departure. The fee includes an Environmental Management Charge of $3.50 per person per night for three nights ($10.50) plus administration charge ($14.50). Total cost per person is $30.

Damage levy fee OR bond

To protect you against costs for damage to a vessel during charter we offer two options, a damage levy fee OR a bond. You must choose one option:

Damage levy fee

A non-refundable, one-off damage levy fee protects you against damage to the vessel and its fittings or loss of inventory from the vessel – providing the vessel has been operated in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the charter agreement. The fee is calculated on a daily rate ($45-$75 per day), depending on the vessel selected.

Bond

A non-refundable damage levy fee of $100 plus a refundable $2,500 bond option – applicable to all vessels and all charter durations – is also available. We reserve the right (without showing cause) to apply this option.

Fuel

Fuel is not included in charter costs. Costs are calculated on the total fuel litres used and are payable on completion of the charter. Fuel cost estimates are available per charter, on request.

Outboard fuel/gas

A fee per charter is applied for outboard fuel used for your tender and also the LPG (gas) used for the stove/BBQ. Payable at the end of charter.

Sleep-aboard

You can stay on board your vessel the night prior to your charter. This allows you to settle in and become familiar with your vessel before your 8am briefing the morning your charter begins. To take the sleep-aboard option, you must be at our Shute Harbour jetty at 4pm to be shown on board. Due to limited availability, this option needs to be requested at the time of booking. Charges apply. Contact us for prices.
