CHECK AVAILABILITY

Everyone wants their charter boat holiday to go ahead as planned, but occasionally the unexpected happens. That’s why we recommend our guests take out travel insurance.

There are two insurance options to consider when planning a bareboat charter in the Whitsundays, travel insurance and liability insurance.

Travel Insurance

We strongly suggest our guests take out travel insurance. This is in relation to your personal travel insurance, not your vessel insurance.

A small insurance investment when you book your sailing holiday ensures you’re protected should your plans be interrupted by illness (excluding Covid), a family emergency, lost luggage or other unforeseen circumstances.

We encourage guests to purchase travel insurance from their preferred provider. While we cannot provide specific advice on insurance matters, you may like to contact our office for up to date information on travel insurance providers in Australia.

Please note that recently there have been changes to Australian travel insurance providers covering severe weather events.

Recall due to Severe Weather

If we had to recall boats because the weather was considered to be a threat to our customers’ safety, we are not legally liable for any lost time, expenses or hire fees. This policy applies to all bareboat operators in the Whitsundays.

Taking our severe weather policy into account, Whitsunday Rent a Yacht will do everything we can to reasonably accommodate our guests in the unlikely occurrence of an extreme weather event. Feel free to contact our sales team to discuss.
